Port Douglas prepared for the worst but was spared from all its fury as Ita made landfall near Cape Flattery.
However we still had a lot of wind and rain as it passed by, but no damage.
The club reopend on Sunday 13th to bright sunshine and light winds.

Spinakers Restaurant opens every day at 6 pm for dinner and at noon for lunch on Saturday & Sunday.

After many weeks of inclement weather on the Club's Saturday race day, dawn broke with the sun shining and about 12 knots of breeze. The course was set as a port rounding of Low Isles, Snapper Island and back to Port.
Five yachts made up the fleet and a good days sailing was had by all.
Shazam (Doug Ryan) was first across the line but after handicaps were allocated, Indigo (Colin Simpson) was declared the winner, followed by Shazam, Ruff Red (Greg Langen), Black Velvet (Steve) and Lady Mystique (Mick &Helen Gwilliams)
